Reasons to End Daylight Saving Time
Governments really need to look at the option of doing away with daylight saving time. The reason for this is because the intended results of saving energy in the period the daylight saving time program was started is not working for our current state. The time that the daylight saving time was effective has long run out hence a need for other inventive methods.
The authority, department of transportation responsible for the daylight saving time program should consider some regulations before it allows it to run in any state. The regulations that should be considered include the places that many people worship, go to work, attend school, receive health services, the locations of buy and railway stations and not forgetting shipment of good and services. In most cases, not a lot of places meet these requirements and if they do only a little, hence the logic that this program is no longer beneficial should be clear to see.
The air transport sector is another area that is badly affected by the daylight saving time program. Timing and air travel are two important things that run together and if one of them is altered then the whole system collapses which is what the daylight saving time program does hence rendering it useless if not effective and efficient. When the air transport system is crippled some business people may have missed important meetings that would have brought in extra capital to the country all because the daylight saving time program has its grip deep within these states.
In addition to the problems that the daylight saving time program brings in its wake include health issues that immediately state when the program begins. The health problems being talked about include a rise in child security issues, increased vehicle accidents, increased work injuries and an ever rising number in heart attacks.
The simple reason that our kids are no longer safe is that they have to leave for school very early and come home very late, this leaves them vulnerable to attacks from dangerous people. Secondly, the increased number of accidents on the roads is people have to wake even earlier to reach their objectives for the day and in the process could end up in accidents since driving in the dark is much more riskier and dangerous than during the day.
Furthermore, it was been observed that during the time that the program was in effect, more workers report work related injuries, this is because they have to work more hours and in between some accidents may occur which may not have happened because they maybe more tired than normal. To finish up, this program requires procedures to be put in place that use up valuable funds, time and effort that could be channeled into other useful sectors of the economy hence the need to get rid of it.
