The Well-being of Women
Women’s health care is a practice to look after a woman’s body general well-being. Women’s health issues are widely known to be as a result of reproductive health problems that could either be hereditary or acquired through the years. Other than this general view, women’s health issues can be as a result of various reasons that revolve around their environmental, monetary, biological and cultural positions in their lives.
The major catalyst of women’s health issues is sexuality and is categorized under reproductive health. This issue affects the body system and its proper functioning during pregnancy, childbirth and subsequent life stages, if not attended to. Health groups have been opened to purposely coach women and girls on health care. They offer platforms for them to ask questions, promote awareness and provide care and treatment for them. Abortion, maternal health problems, female genital mutilation and sexually transmitted infections are among concerns that are discussed under the reproductive health category.
There has been better and more educative knowledge on the anatomy of the female body thus enabling existence of beneficial women’s health care. A branch of medicine was therefore introduced that deals with women’s medical conditions, pregnancy, birth and the female anatomy in general. The female’s internal processes especially during the child bearing process are handled by an obstetrics doctor. Various problems can be faced by different women beginning from the conception stage to the child bearing period. This may lead to death, if the conditions are not detected or neutralized.
In the early days of the US government, women were hardly recognized past their homely status in the society and this later led to women’s outcry for their recognition like through introduction of health policies to favour their well-being like that of men. The women during those times questioned the male domineering system that didn’t recognize the women’s health care. The US government made it their mission to provide working policies to be implemented in the women’s health sector, to benefit them and the country at large too, since women are the mothers of a nation. It goes unnoticed that currently, women in the US receive better awareness of their health status and are in better positions socio-economically than women in the rest of the world, especially those in third world countries.
There is therefore a great importance for women to know more about their health and risks that are associated with women’s health.
